Salt Marsh Rendering
An image showing the effect of storm surge flooding on the coastal landscape on both healthy and degraded marsh conditions.”
The Rendering Explained
The left column shows the marsh in existing (healthy) circumstances. The top left image displays the marsh under normal (non-flooded) conditions while the bottom left image portrays the marsh during flooded conditions. The right column represents a degrading marsh scenario, with degradation caused by a storm or some other negative impact. The top right image illustrates this degraded marsh scenario under normal (non-flooded) conditions. The bottom right image reflects a degraded marsh during flooded conditions; in this scenario, the water comes up higher than it would with a healthy marsh, encroaching on coastal infrastructure.
